About the IFSS

The annual International Forestry Students' Symposium (IFSS) is an intensive two week program incorporating an academic conference, workshops and lecture forums combined with cultural activities and educational excursions. The symposium is also a platform for the IFSA Annual General Meeting.

IUFRO World Congress

The symposium will be run in conjunction with the World Congress of the International Union of Forest Research Organisation (IUFRO) to be held in Brisbane from 8th – 13th of August 2005. An IFSA-run side event entitled “Moving Forestry Forward” will be held in addition to a workshop on Indigenous participation in Forest Research and Education, and a debate “When is Forest Management Forestry?” Students are encouraged to attend the event through the IFSA-IUFRO Memorandum of Understanding.

For more information on this event please visit the IUFRO web site www.iufro2005.com
